Prepare your show without the mixer: How to use Offline Mode
Set up channels, groups and effects without connecting the mixer
Time during sound check is often limited. To help you optimize setup, StageWave 2026 includes a powerful Offline Mode.
This feature lets the sound technician or band director get the session ready from the hotel, tour bus or home, without the audio mixer connected to the computer.
What can you configure in Offline Mode?
When you open StageWave Server with no audio interface connected, you can simulate your workflow and do most of the configuration in advance:
- Assignment and naming: Name each channel (e.g. Kick, Snare, Bass, Vox 1).
- Visual identification: Assign icons and colors to channels so musicians can spot them quickly on their phones.
- Creating groups: Group channels (e.g. "Full drums" or "Backing vocals") to simplify mixing in the mobile app. (We now support up to 8 groups.)
- Effects setup: Pre-configure routing for Reverb, Delay and the new Noise Gate.
- Saving mixes (scenes): Set the whole board and save it.
How to use it on the day of the event
- When you arrive at the venue, simply connect your digital mixer to the computer and router.
- Open StageWave Server and load the preset or session you prepared offline.
- The system will route the channels automatically and musicians only need to connect, scan the QR code (if needed) and start playing.
For new users (StageWave Musician): Offline mode is also available in the mobile app. It works like a "Guided Tour" so new musicians can explore the interface, try the faders and understand the app before their first real rehearsal.
