Quick Diagnostic: Common issues and solutions
Table of symptoms, causes and quick actions
Before diving into complex settings, check this table of the most common issues and their quick fixes. If you don’t recognize a term in the table, still follow the “Quick action” for your symptom; if the problem continues, contact us via the site chat and we’ll guide you.
Important: About 80% of stability issues are fixed by keeping the router dedicated. Use the 5GHz band on a clear channel (ideally channel 165 at 20MHz), and do not use this network for internet or video streaming.
| Symptom or error | Likely cause | Quick action |
|---|---|---|
| Audio dropouts (glitches) or unstable | Router-related (WiFi interference, network congestion) or packet loss. | 1. Check the Performance Monitor in the Server for stability history. 2. Use a clear 5GHz channel. 3. The router must be dedicated (do not use it for video streaming or internet). Note: Check Smart Warnings in the mobile app for Bluetooth/GPS issues. |
| Mobile app can’t find the Server | Local network issue, firewall blocking, or PC connected via WiFi instead of cable. | 1. Scan the QR code from the Server screen. If that fails, the issue is your network. 2. Make sure the PC is connected to the router by cable. 3. Temporarily disable the Windows firewall. |
| Audio sounds "robotic" or distorted | (Windows) ASIO driver mismatch. StageWave and the interface are not at the same speed. | Open your ASIO panel and ensure Sample Rate (e.g. 48kHz) and Buffer Size match StageWave. Go to Mixer -> "Restart audio engine". |
| Headphone volume very low | High-impedance headphones or wrong gain structure from the mixer. | Turn up the phone’s master volume. If that’s not enough, enable "Volume Booster" in the mobile app menu. Check gain levels on your mixer. |
| Error: "Could not use audio device" | Another app (DAW, browser) is using the audio device, or sample rate mismatch. | Close other apps. If you use a DAW for sequences at the same time, make sure both share the same ASIO driver and settings on Windows. |
| Server opens with black screen | (Windows) Missing admin rights or system visual dependencies. | Close the app, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator". If an error appears at the bottom, install Visual C++ Redistributable. |
